Under general supervision the IT Network Technician performs complex professional work with computer hardware, software, and network systems. Installs and supports personal computers, printers, and other network connected equipment. Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to helpdesk requests, telephone calls, email, instant messages, and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a time resolution. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for designing and installing computer networks, connections and cabling
Maintaining and repairing hardware including peripheral devices
Assisting coworkers by providing technical direction and training
Working alongside other technical support employees to help with troubleshooting system failures and identifying roadblocks in the network
Working with venders to get needed equipment for the networks and systems
Designing and installing computer networks, connections and cabling

Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to communicate with diverse audiences
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a strong sense of accountability
Must be organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
Must maintain a degree of confidentiality
Activity requirements for this position may involve overnight travel, which could include standards modes of transportation including airline travel and the ability to rent a car

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or combination of experience
Minimum of 1 years' experience with troubleshooting networked office computers.
Has knowledge of commonly used IT concepts, practices, and procedures.
Networking infrastructure, applications, firewall and computer forensics certifications preferred.
